Every time I look at my I Pod lock screen I’m reminded of my dog. I’m not sure where my dad got my dog but I think it was near Houston. Dad got him when I was five years old.
My dog’s name is Max. He’s a six year old miniature Italian Jack Russell Terrier. He has four brown spots on his body- 2 spots around his eyes and ears and two more around his bottom. Except for the brown spots Max is all white. His eyes are black and he’s about one and a half feet tall. Max is almost always excited. At night Max calms down.
Granny and pawpaw took my sisters, Max, and I to Lake Livingston and Max was really excited. When we got to the RV we unpacked everything and went to bed. On Saturday, the next morning, we went outside and took Max with us. Pawpaw had put a dock out into the water from the land and Max walked out onto it. Our boat was next to the dock. While we were looking away Max saw the boat and wanted to jump on. Legs crouched Max sprang towards the boat, but missed it. Splash! He hit the water. We ran toward him but he started doggy paddling everywhere. Blam, blam- pawpaw was trying to put a fishing net over Max. Ears twitching, body shaking, Max was wearing a help-me-already-before-I-get-snapped-by-a-turtle look that makes you go faster. Whoosh, granny scooped Max up with her arm while hanging over the edge. Since Max was soaking wet, we put a towel over him. Legs trembling, Max just stayed put for a while. Everyone was looking at each other and we didn’t know what to do next. Carefully, Max stepped off granny and walked to the door of the RV. Getting up, we went to let Max into the RV. Jumping onto the couch Max curled up and gave a yawn, while granny put food in front of him. After another yawn Max fell asleep and so did we.
